Xi Baipo
Shijiazhuang was the city released by the People’s Liberation Army in 1947, which planted the seeds for the new China.
Xi Baipo was a village in the west part of Shijiazhuang. At that time, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the People’s Liberation Army moved the headquarters to Xi Baipo, and held a very significant historical meeting called: Second Plenary of the Seventh Conference of CPC. Therefore, the village became an important site from where the Communist Party of China (CPC) led the nation, made strategic decisions and established a center of command for the New China.
Since Xi Baipo was the last center of command of the CPC, after liberation it took on a new historical mission—patriotism education. Nowadays, Xi Baipo combines the revolutionary site together with its natural scenery. The main sites are: Xi Baipo Revolutionary Memorial Hall, Ruins of the Central Committee of the Communist Party site, Gang Nan Reservoir (Baipo Lake, Stone Park, and more.
Bailin Temple
Bailin Temple is a very famous Chinese Buddhist temple, the north Buddhist center, and the birthplace of Zhao Zhou. It was established during the Eastern Han Dynasty, and it hosts the Hebei Province Buddhist Academy and the Zen Buddhism Institute. Bailin Temple is located in the southeastern region of Zhao County, where you can also find the first bridge in the worlds—the Zhao Zhou Bridge. In more than 1700 years of history, the temple has been the home of many eminent monks. The Stupa of the Bailin Temple is a under the National Cultural Relics protection program.
Zhao Zhou Bridge
Zhao Zhou Bridge is located in the Xiao River of Zhao County in Hebei. The bridge was established 605AD, about 1400 years ago. The bridge was designed and constructed by the famous craftsman Chun Li, and it is the oldest and best preserved ancient open arch bridge in the world. It is part of the National Cultural Relics protection program, and it was selected as the world’s 12th “International Civil Historical Monument” by the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Long Xing Temple
Located in Zheng Ding County in Shijiazhuang, Long Xing Temple is an earlier era, full large scale Buddhist Monastery, which is also well known for its special architectural structure. The monastery was established in the Sui Dynasty, and it is where many historical Emperors incensed, wrote poems, carved stones and standing tablet stones. Also, the monastery’s temples have numerous murals of high ornamental value.
